November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and WAMC, Northeast Public Radio invited NYOH’s Dr. Makenzi Evangelist to discuss the disease on Medical Monday, its live, weekly call-in program. Dr. Evangelist answered listeners questions and discussed advances in the treatment of lung cancer, including several promising new clinical trials being offered at NYOH.
Dr. Evangelist shared that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. Nearly twice as many women die of lung cancer than breast cancer and more people die from lung cancer than breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers combined.
