Why NYOH for your Skin Cancer Treatment

Benefits of Skin Cancer Treatment at NYOH

Skin Cancer Treatment at New York Oncology Hematology includes extensive personalized treatment planning and care throughout the entire process. Here are just a few of the ways New York Oncology Hematology is a leader in skin cancer care.

Individualized Treatment Planning

Designed to provide patients and loved ones with the knowledge needed to choose the best course of treatment, you will work in collaboration with a specialized medical team. Advances in skin cancer research now allow us to plan a personalized course of treatment, based on specific biologic characteristics of your cancer. This results in better outcomes and fewer side effects.

During your consultation, you will learn about treatment options from your physician. We take the time to answer your questions and ensure that you understand the reasoning behind our recommendations.

Patient Guidance

New York Oncology Hematology will work with patients to answer any questions or concerns you may have about your care. We can direct you to resources for financial assistance programs, community resources, supportive care programs, and more. Nurse Navigators are available at some locations. Feel free to ask your provider for more details.

Clinical Trials

Our participation in high-priority skin cancer clinical trials through The US Oncology Network may provide early access to new therapies that are not available elsewhere.  We are committed to clinical research, having participated in more than 500 trials over the past 20 years. While our patients benefit from participating in the development of emerging treatments, they are also playing a key role in developing the breakthrough cancer therapies.

Hereditary Risk Assessment Program

In addition to offering the latest therapies for skin cancer, our team also recognizes the increasingly important role that genetics is playing in diagnosis and treatment. To help patients and their families understand and evaluate their risk for certain diseases, NYOH offers a comprehensive Hereditary Risk Assessment Program that includes:

  • In-depth personal and family history
  • Genetic testing, as appropriate
  • Education for families and their families

Be sure to ask your nurse or provider for more information.

Supportive Care

At New York Oncology Hematology, we believe caring for our patients extends beyond the treatment we provide. We are proud to offer a variety of supportive care programs to support you and your loved ones, and we can help connect you with other groups in the community, who also provide important services.

From support groups to chemotherapy classes, hereditary risk assessment to financial support through our NYOH Community Cancer Foundation, we are here for you every step of the way. We encourage you to learn more and take advantage of our supportive care services.
