Karen Tedesco, MD, Named NYOH Practice President

New York Oncology Hematology (NYOH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Tedesco, MD, as Practice President, succeeding Todd Doyle, MD, who recently concluded his term. This leadership transition reflects NYOH’s continued commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate, patient-centered cancer care.

Dr. Tedesco is board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology and brings extensive clinical expertise and a strong history of leadership within the organization. She currently serves as the Director of the NYOH Hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment Program, Vice Chair of the NYOH Research Committee, Program Leader of the NYOH Physician Mentoring Program, and Group Leader of the NYOH Women Physicians’ Group. She previously served terms as the Treasurer and Vice President of the NYOH Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Night Out For You Board of Directors.

Throughout her career, Dr. Tedesco has been recognized for excellence in clinical care, research, and service. Her honors include the University of Michigan House Officer Research Award, the William J. Williams Award in Internal Medicine, the AMWA Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation, a SPORE (Specialized Program of Research Excellence) student grant, the Centum Club for clinical trial enrollment, the To Life! Extra Mile Award, the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation Golden Hanger Award, and induction into the AOA Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Tedesco is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, the Medical Society of the State of New York, and the Upstate Medical Alumni Association.

Reflecting on her appointment, Dr. Tedesco shared: “It is an honor to step into the role of Practice President at New York Oncology Hematology. NYOH has a long-standing tradition of clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassionate care, and I am grateful for the leadership of Dr. Doyle and the many physicians and staff who have helped shape our practice. As we look ahead, I am excited to build on this strong foundation—advancing research, expanding access to specialty programs, and continuing to provide the highest level of care to the patients and communities we serve.”

NYOH extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Doyle for his leadership, dedication, and lasting contributions to the practice.

Looking ahead, Dr. Tedesco will help guide several key initiatives, including continued growth of clinical research, expansion of specialty programs, and strategic planning for the NYOH Regional Cancer Center, slated to open to patient care in early 2027. This next chapter represents an important step forward in strengthening access to high-quality, comprehensive cancer care across the communities NYOH serves.
