We are pleased to announce that the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has accredited NYOH for Radiation Oncology through APEx - Accreditation Program for Excellence® for our Albany, Amsterdam and Clifton Park Cancer Centers. APEx is an accreditation program developed by ASTRO that validates a radiation oncology facility’s excellence in delivering high-quality patient care.
Accreditation through APEx is a voluntary and rigorous multi-step process during which ASTRO evaluates practices using consensus-based standards. A practice must demonstrate its safety and quality processes and adhere to patient-centered care by promoting effective communication, coordinated treatments and strong patient engagement. NYOH demonstrated those processes and continues to engage them in our patients’ care.
Our full accreditation by the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) APEx – Accreditation Program for Excellence is for a 4-year term.
