New York Oncology Hematology recently donated a CT scanner, formerly used in the Rexford practice. With the investment in new technology, the scanner, which is fully functional, is headed to First Rivers Hospital in Nigeria, along with several other donated items from NYOH practices.
A private practice, owned by local physicians, NYOH is an affiliate of The US Oncology Network, who connected NYOH with Wilson Office Interiors, a Texas company that arranges donations to Nigeria in honor of a deceased employee from that country.
General Electric donated the labor to de-install the scanner and paid for it to be removed from NYOH/Rexford. Wilson Office Interiors coordinated pick up and transport of the equipment and Loense International Limited, a logisics company based in Nigeria, will cover the shipping costs to that country.
