Dr. Ira Zackon Visits Capitol Hill to Advocate for Medicare Part B

Ira Zackon, MD (NYOH), Barry Brooks, MD (TXO), Steve Paulson, MD (TXO), and Randy Broun, MD (OHC) met with Congressional members and staff on March 6 to highlight concerns with the Administration’s International Pricing Index (IPI) model. The US Oncology Network physicians advocated against specific provisions in the IPI model, primarily the insertion of third-party vendors in the procurement and administration of Part B drugs. 

The Network and other allied healthcare stakeholders have expressed numerous concerns about why the model could result in unintended consequences for patient access, outcomes, and overall costs.
