Olds says that because of COVID, many patients have postponed or skipped cancer screenings. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) warns that modeling suggests nearly 10,000 excess deaths from breast and colorectal cancer over the next decade, due to delays in screenings and early diagnosis of these cancers.
Dr. Olds says imaging locations are taking proper safety precautions, so everyone should keep up to date on all cancer screenings.
